Shan (Tai) National flag

 

1. The design of the national flag is as sanctioned at the Panglong Treaty conference in 1947.
2. The size of the flag is ( 5ft. x 3ft)
3. Diameter of the Moon is (1.? ft)
4. The breath of the three colors: yellow, green and reddish (1 ft) each.

The meaning of the color:
1. Yellow means religion and Race
2. Green means forest, rich in natural resources, people and peace
3. Red means bravery
4. White means purity


   

 

  • Shan state had been existed since immemorial time with our own administration and our man at arm to protect him. During British administration, the total areas of the Shan State was 62,500 square miles.
  • The land was fertile that the people had no difficulties to maintain a living. It was self sufficeint.
  • There are 5.7 millions acres of cultivatable land though about 2 millions acres are in use.
  • There are 18 medium to minimum size dams for cultivation
  • There are many rivers and streams which can be dammed to generate hydroelectric power and for agriculture.
  • Precious timbers (e.g. teak, other hard wood) and other forest products can be extracted.
  • The land is also rich in mineral resources. (i.e. precious stones and other metal ones.)
  • Shan state was divided into three divisions for administration with Loiluang ( Taunggyi- Burmese name), the capital of Shan state, is in southern part, Lashio, the second capital in Northern part and Kengtung, the easther part of the shan state.
  • There are 52 township with 1705 tracts and 15775 villages.
